    • That’s a coincidence– I posted a blog about Billy Jack a couple of weeks ago:
      https://www.goodreads.com/author_blog_posts/25952280-yesterday-s-hero

Billy Jack was already a sequel. It followed Born Losers (1967).
The Trial of Billy Jack (1974) made a ton of money at the time of release, buoyed by the success of Billy Jack. Initially, it outsold Godfather II. However, it was terrible, and quickly disappeared.

Billy Jack Goes to Washington (1977) barely received any distribution at all.

The Return of Billy Jack started production in the 1980s and closed almost immediately. It was never completed.

Other unnecessary sequels: The belated follow-ups to Sleepaway Camp (1983). The original is problematic, to be sure, but well worth seeing, if you’re even a little bit of a fan of the slasher genre.
