Finally, the picks of the week. Alex says, “There are some pretty good 4K UHD picks this week, but I’m going to go for Clue as my main pick. Otherwise, the Blu-Ray releases of Evangelion 1.11 and 2.22 have been out of print for a while, and pre-dated the re-dub of the films (with the full dub cast from the original series) that was done when they were released for streaming on Prime Video, so I’m going with that for my anime (and non-UHD) pick.” Blaine says, “I’m going with Superman: The Movie (1978) for my pick. It’s a great movie, and also a landmark in the superhero films, as it’s the first that was well made and aimed at an audience that can drive themselves to the theatre.”

  1. When I was a kid, my friends and I used to watch American WWE rebroadcasts and man did we love the Van Erich brothers. At the time we obviously had no idea how tragic their lives were, let alone how much worse they would become.

I’m very tempted to watch The Iron Claw — it’s been sitting on my queue for a while. I honestly don’t know if I ever will.

    • Clue is definitely funny– I don’t know if I’d want to own it, myself.

The Florida Project (a very different sort of film) makes for interesting viewing.

      • Clue is a “comfort film” for me. I own a very old DVD (like the old paper case variety). Though, it’s on one streaming service or another these days whenever I’m in the mood.
