Yes, this is probably the earliest this column has ever been posted. I don’t know if I’ll have time to go online again before Monday, so I’m doing it now.
First, the genre releases:
- Beauty and the Beast – Season One: I never watched this, but it’s had fantastic reviews.
- Masters of Horror – Pelts
- Naruto Vol. 9 – The Scroll’s Secret
- Thrills! Chills! Spills! The Ultimate Adventure Collection: This five disk set has a number of classic and not-so-classic titles.
- Zoom – Academy for Superheroes
Now, the non-genre releases:
- All in the Family – Season Six
- Ballykissangel – Complete Series Five
- Bicycle Thieves – Criterion Collection: This is a classic of Italian cinema. What seems like a small theft to one can ruin the life of another.
- The Departed
- The Gloria Swanson Collection: The silent starlet gets her own box set.
- The Golden Girls – The Seventh and Final Season
- Green For Danger – Criterion Collection
- Half Nelson
- The Hills – Complete First Season
- Hustle – Season Two
- Infamous
- Infernal Affairs Trilogy: This inspired The Departed.
- Man About Town
- Marie Antoinette
- Men Behaving Badly – Complete Series
- Mr. Moto Collection Vol. 2: Includes “Mr. Moto’s Gamble,” “Mr. Moto in Danger Island,” “Mr. Moto Takes a Vacation,” and “Mr. Moto’s Last Warning.”
- Paul Robeson: Portraits of the Artist – Criterion Collection: A four disk set about the first African American movie star.
- Police Story 2 (Special Collector’s Edition)
- The Quiet
- School For Scoundrels
- Smiles and Spectacles – The Harold Lloyd Treasury
Finally, the pick of the week. I’ve got to go with The Bicycle Thieves. Some people can walk away relatively unscathed from having a bicycle stolen, while others cannot. This is a nice way to reveal the value of thinking through any actions that impact other people.
Yay, early posts
You know, I remember actually watching "Beauty and the Beast" but for the life of me I couldn’t tell you a single plot point.
Sadly "Men Behaving Badly" is the horrible, HORRIBLE American version of an excellent British comedy. Darn.
"Police Story 2" is cool. There should be a "Police Story" boxed set. And you should get it from asiafilm.com and not Amazon.
