Sorry this is late. I screwed up by back the other day, and can’t sit very long at one time.
First, the DVD releases:
- The Addams Family – The Complete Series
- Berlin Alexanderplatz – Criterion Collection
- Captain N and the New Super Mario World
- Christmas Time In South Park
- Close Encounters of the Third Kind (30th Anniversary Ultimate Edition)
- Da Vinci’s Inquest – Season 2: One of the few Canadian productions that “looks” Canadian due to style and not lack of budget. Well written, too.
- Day One
- Dinner For Five: The Complete Series: Several individual seasons are also coming out this week.
- Ducktales, Volume 3
- Gilmore Girls – The Complete Seventh Season
- Gilmore Girls – The Complete Series Collection
- Just for Laughs: Gags, Vol. 3 and 4: The CBC version of “Candid Camera.” These are surprisingly good gags. Also, as some of you are no doubt aware, the CBC has to produce content in both French and English languages. This series covers that by running the gags entirely without dialogue, so the same footage works in and out of Quebec without dubbing. Don’t get it for that, though; get it because it’s honestly quite funny.
- The Littles – The Complete Series: This is another show I have fond childhood memories of that I’m afraid to watch again lest I ruin the memory with reality.
- Masters of Horror – Dream Cruise
- Melrose Place – The Third Season
- Miami Vice: The Complete Series
- Naruto the Movie: Ninja Clash in the Land of Snow – Deluxe Edition
- Northern Exposure – The Complete Series
- Ocean’s Thirteen
- Ocean’s Trilogy
- Paris, Je T’Aime: The single disc edition.
- Paris, Je T’Aime: Two disc limited edition
- Perry Mason – Season Two, Volume 2
- Pride and Prejudice: A two disc deluxe edition
- The Princess Bride (20th Anniversary Edition): Yet another edition.
- Shrek the Third
- The Shrek Trilogy
- Talespin, Volume 2
- Trinity Blood Box Set
- TV Sci-Fi Bundle: It’s not cheap, but it is economical. The first three seasons of “Stargate Atlantis” and the complete series runs of “Buffy,” “Angel,” “Stargate SG1,” “The Pretender,” “Roswell,” “Firefly,” “The X-Files” and “Dark Angel” for almost $900. That’s 45 seasons of television for about $20 each. Hope you’ve got time to watch them.
- La Vie En Rose (Extended Version)
- Xenosaga, Vol. 2
Now, the Blu-Ray releases:
- Close Encounters of the Third Kind (30th Anniversary Ultimate Edition)
- Masters of Horror: Season 1, Volume 3
- Ocean’s Thirteen
- Ocean’s Trilogy
- Prison Break – Season 1
The HD DVD releases are as follows:
Finally, the pick of the week. There’s some good stuff this week, but not compared to what’s coming up by the end of the month. My advice is to hold off just a little while longer.
