Um, I’m not in favor of it, unless they keep Lucas far, FAR away from it. The less he has to do with it, the better the chances are I’ll see it. Hell, I was a huge fanboy early on, but I never bothered seeing Episode III. Episode I was the "screw me once", Episode II was the "screw me twice", and Ep III was the "won’t get screwed again".

Not that that will stop most of the modern fanboys.

The sad thing is that most of my friends loved all three. The third one was the best of the three, almost as good as jedi, but not quite. And of course with jedi, in my opinion, being the worst of the original three, that should tell you something.

A friend told me it was the best of the three, but that that wasn’t saying much.

Interesting: RottenTomatoes gives them 63%, 66%, and 79%. I think they overvalued it by about 40 points, at least the first 2. And SW: 95, ESB: 97, ROTJ: 75. So it looks like your friends (and mine) are right. Of course, my friends for some unknown reason bought the DVDs of Ep1/2/3… WTF.

  2. Expanded Universe
If it wasn’t for the expanded universe, both in comics and books, I probably wouldn’t enjoy Star Wars nearly as much.

As far as the prequel trilogy goes, I like The Phantom Menace best because of Qui-Gon Jinn and Darth Maul. Unfortunately they both had to die, but such is life.
