Star Trek fans with DVD players should be happy.
Star Trek: The Next Generation is coming
to DVD one complete season at a time (unlike the
original series and its two episode packages)
starting March 26. It looks like they’re
following the same four episode per disk format
used for the X-Files releases. Price anticipated
at under $100US. For all the official
information, click

Cool, but…
Any idea if they plan on re-releasing TOS on DVD (like this; an entire season in one box)? IIRC, there were only three seasons of TOS so it should be easier to do (I think).
It would certainly make it easier to get all the episodes for all five shows (I’m assuming that they will eventually release Enterprise on DVD too).
Then again, I still haven’t purchased all the movies yet. :)
Re: Cool, but…
The best way to ensure this, is to buy the the TNG sets. I never got the dual-episode packs because they were a) Too expensive, and b) who needs that many discs (TOS would be 40 of them). These sets sound like the solve problem ‘B’. We’ll have to wait and see about the price.
Re: Cool, but…
It sounds like the price they’re shooting for is
very reasonable. (Under $100US.) I’ll pick up TNG
and DS9 in these
sets if the description is accurate. If the Original
Series is released like this, I’ll get that too. (I
also chose to pass on the uber-pricy two episode sets.)
