injuries suffered when falling. (NOT the
Kevin Smith who wrote and directed the

      Yeah, me too (when I saw it in the almost-always-empty submission queue). Unfortunately, “Ares dies” just didn’t have the same kind of zing.

    The fall didn’t hurt him, it was the sudden stop. Unless he hit his head on the way down (e.g., he tumbled and his head struck scaffolding), but then the cause of death would best be described as a “head injury,” not injuries resulting from a fall.

    This is an old joke, but it is an important and often overlooked distinction. You can be fatally injured in a fall from a step ladder, and people have (rarely) survived falls from a plane with either no parachute or a malfunctioning one.
