Deadpool Movie News

Ryan Reynolds spoke to MTV.com about the upcoming Deadpool movie, and I find the results quite heartening.

As some of you may recall, I wasn’t impressed with the final handling of the character in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. When I watched this Ryan Reynolds interview, particularly from the 1:15 mark on, I got the impression that Ryan Reynolds was looking for a politically correct way to say “the character was not adapted well.” (That’s how I read it; your mileage may vary.) With quotes in the new MTV interview such as “I get to be the authentication police” and “To their credit — the studio’s credit — they want to make an authentic ‘Deadpool’ movie; they want to make it as close to the source material as possible,” and “He’s going to be the Merc with the Mouth, [we’re going to give] all those answers that everyone wants. He’s going to have the scarred-up face, he’s going to be in the suit — and, it’s going to be incredible,” I’m feeling much better about the project.
