Weekly Digital Disc Picks – October 27, 2009

This is one of the last of the slim weeks. There are a small number of extremely notable releases, and a lot of mediocrity. This tends to reverse by the end of November.

Finally, the picks of the week. Alex says, “If you’ve got Blu-Ray and don’t own it already, go ahead and get The Prisoner. If you don’t have Blu-Ray… I’d wait another week or two.” Blaine says, “I’ve seen very few of the releases this week. Restricting myself to that I’ve actually seen, the Monty Python sets are an easy choice. If I include the stuff I’ve been wanting to see based on reputation, then the Prisoner and Battlestar Galactica releases become strong contenders.”

    Sadly, the book for Twilight isn’t any better than the movie. The movie trims a lot of the girlie BS and gets down to the plot.

    Unfortunately, the plot is pointless and trite.
