Weekly Digital Disc Picks – January 26, 2010

The January doldrums are almost over.

First, the DVD picks:

Now, the Blu-Ray picks:

Finally, the picks of the week. Alex says, “If you’ve got Blu-Ray, go ahead and pick up the Blu-Ray version of Highlander. Otherwise, I don’t particularly have a standard-def pick of the week. That said, I will be putting some of the Rifftrax DVDs into my Netflix queue.” Blaine says, “this is a lackluster week, but next week sees Doctor Who specials, a slew of impressive library titles on Blu-Ray, the second last season of Murder, She Wrote, new TCM collections and more. I say wait a week.”

Not genre, but The Italian Job (1969) is actually an excellent movie.

  2. Fez says:

I’ll be adding Surrogates near the top of my Blockbuster online queue, and maybe Whip It at the bottom of the queue. Otherwise, a fairly lackluster week.

Side Note, re: Highlander: The Kurgen, (aka Clancy Brown) is on a new lawyer show on ABC called The Deep End. The pilot just aired Thursday, so it’s still too early to tell how it will be long-term. However, he looks considerably older than he did the last time I saw him in something new, which I think was Carnivàle.
