The weekly X-Files column is back. (I apologize for its lateness.) This week’s discussion: what do you think of Doggett?

Now that Doggett has appeared in a few episodes, what do you think of him? Is he a worthy addition to the set of characters? How does he stack up against Mulder?

Personally, I like the character. He’s resourceful, having virtually solved every case he and Scully have worked on together. He knows everybody, whether it’s a DA awaiting trial, or a police officer who grew up in town. He may not believe in the supernatural, but he can recognize when some events have some common thread tying them together, and can pursue an investigation in that light.

In short, I think Doggett is a welcome addition to the X-Files cast of characters, and a worthy partner for Scully. I sincerely hope Mulder, Scully, and Doggett all remain attached to the X-Files when Mulder returns.

Now, what do you think?
