Keanu Reeves as Superman?

PerlStalker writes, Fox
News
is reporting that Keanu Reeves is the
leading candidate for Man of Steal in Warner’s
Superman: Lost Son of Krypton. I have never
been impressed with Reeves’ acting, so I can’t say I
like this.
If this pans out, then Keanu will be forced to choose between aggrivating almost all existing Superman fans, or turning in a performance that’s entirely unlike any work I’ve seen him do so far.

    Interesting Trend
In the beginning, there was George Reeves. (Okay, after checking IMDb, the first person to play Superman in a live piece seems to be Kirk Alyn, but the first really big production had George Reeves.) Then came the movie, with Christopher Reeve. Finally, the TV show with Dean Cain (I’m not counting any animated Superman’s.)

Out of these three, the Reeves commits suicide and Reeve is in a tragic accident. Cain, on the other hand, comes out fine. Do the producers really want to tempt fate by having another Reeves play The Man of Steel?

They wouldn’t do that until finish the last Matrix
      film. :-)

Seriously though, Keanu seems to be able to pull of
characters like Neo, but he just doesn’t seem to be able
to act in an “uplifting” role. Superman (at least
on-screen) has always been, generally, a happy person. I
just can’t see Keanu doing that without turning into
SuperTed. Replace that big S with a big T (or 69?) and
      there you go.

Took me a little while to realise that you didnt mean the cartoon bear with Spottyman as a side kick….
