Twilight Zone Discussion – “The Linesman”

This was the first full-hour story on the newest incarnation of a classic. Was the extra time well used?

  1. Haven’t watched.
I’ve not watched it since the tree fertilizer episode.

Is it turning out to be pretty good? It conflicted with another season pass on my TiVo and wanted to see if I should give it another shake.

I think overall that the show is rather good. It doesn’t really live up to the classic TZ, but its still good. Forrest whittaker just isn’t doing something right, but thats only secondary to the plots. The plots overall have been OK, but nothing as cool as the best classics. In that sense they match the average episode level of the classic TZ, but there hasn’t been a REALLY good episode yet, although I did enjoy the Pool Guy episode alot.

With regards to the latest episode. It feels like the original TZ hour long episodes which were originally written to be 1/2 hour long, but stretched to an hour. This episode could probably have been done very easily in a half hour. That being said, I did enjoy it, as I usually enjoy “superpower” type episodes.

I agree Forrest just doesn’t do it for me in this role, but thats ok. I don’t think it will ever be what classic TZ was. It was so ahead of its time. I still love the old episodes. The new one its good as well, the Linesman has been the best episode for me so far.
