Welcome foolish mortals…
Are you afraid of spiders? What about nuclear mutation? How about both!
Have you wondered what happened to Dracula’s minion? Did you want to see a comic-book style movie about it? Need more crazy Nick Cage in your life? We have a Halloween treat for you!
The night is upon us! The finale of our haunted Halloween Countdown, 2022, features two very different productions. We start with summer’s super, sinister hit.
The 2022 hit film features a pair of animal-wrangling siblings, a goofy tech guy, an old-school cinematographer, and the troubled manager of a roadside attraction. This disparate adult Scooby gang becomes embroiled in an otherworldly mystery out in the California desert.
It’s a little reminiscent of Spielberg, except you don’t want to look up in awe at the sky.
Nope.
We are seeing more more returning shows, but less than you’d expect for the traditional fall television seasons. Getting descriptions also see to be going away, as the on two shows that tell us what to expect are the Handmaid’s tale, as June tries not to choose violence, and See, where Baba takes a shortcut that clearly won’t be any more difficult than the regular road. House of the Dragon gives us a princess and a Queen from its title, but otherwise Andor, She-Hulk, Lower Decks, the Rings of Power, and even returning My Hero Academia only offer us episode numbers.

A collection of my short fiction, old and new, will be released in March. Today the publisher unveiled the cover, with great original art by Dan Barrick.
I don’t normally repost from my author blog, but this sort of thing doesn’t happen every day.
Paul Soles has died. The Canadian broadcaster and the voice of several 1960s cartoons, including Hermey the Elf in Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, Bruce Banner and Rick Jones in the ultra-low-budget Marvel Superheroes Hulk cartoon, and Peter Parker in the famously-themed Ralph Bakshi-produced Spider-man cartoon, was ninety.
I have Declined Counting of the Arrowverse shows, since there is such a small number of them this week, with Supergirl going to Prom and Black Lightning embezzling from his. The Midwives are also back, fifty years ago, and if you wanted to travel even further back into alternate histories, The Nevers are trying to expand their Orphanage through the use of one of the Touched’s talents. If you just want to pretend to be in the past, The Blacklist needs historic codebreaking, so we get an enigma machine involved. The Hadmaiden’s tale returns for season four to bring some historic(-ish) politics into our week, and The Good Doctor moves from health related hot topics to current politics as it treats two gunshot victims.
