Dr. Who == Eddie Izzard

Anonymous Coward writes, According to this story on UK’s The Sun website,
comedian and transvestite Eddie Izzard is up for the role of The
Doctor in the revival of BBC’s Dr. Who.

Also mentioned as possibilites are Alan Davies, from
Jonathan
Creek
, and Richard E Grant.

I think Eddie would be pretty interesting…. I’m not familiar
with UK papers. Anyone care to enlighten us on the average
accuracy of a report from this source?

Death Comes To "Death Comes To Time"

For those who just can’t get enough of Jelly Baby-wielding weirdoes: Remember about a year ago, when we reported on a Doctor Who radio play that was made available online? Well, if you haven’t gotten round to listening to it yet, you’d darned well better. The BBC is reporting that the first episodes will cease to be available after this weekend, leading up to the audio CD release of the programme.

Doctor Who on DVD Today!

Anonymous Coward writes, Three episodes of Doctor Who are coming out on DVD in the US Today! The episodes are the Spearhead From Space, the Five Doctors, and the Robots of Death. They all turn up on this Amazon page. Yes, that link will act as a referral from us. It’s good to see some good news this hour. If you live in New York, STOP USING WATER NOW. If you don’t know why, turn on the news.

Vote to Resurrect The Doctor

Anonymous Coward writes, Look! :)

Simple but effective… as part of the new BBC audio-play, “Death Comes To Time,” the BBC is taking a poll as to whether Doctor Who should be revived. Unsurprisingly, the poll is about 99% in favor.

AC also reports that the Sci-Fi channel will be airing the Fox “Doctor Who” movie tonight at 9PM Eastern/Pacific.

Hugh Who?

This is so bizarre, it must be true. IGN FilmForce is reporting that actor Hugh Grant is the latest candidate to play the Ninth Doctor in the always-talked-about “Doctor Who” feature film. He may be British, but beyond that I’m a touch skeptical.
