Another batch of releases on the way.
First, the genre releases:
- Attack
of the
50 Foot Woman: This is the 1993 remake starring
Daryl Hannah. - Elektra:
The height of mediocrity. - Greatest
America Hero – Season Two: Another for my “must
eventually own” list. - Honey,
I
Shrunk The Kids: It’s a decent movie if you’re
watching with family. - The
Island Of
Dr. Moreau – Unrated Director’s Cut: This was one
of the few
movies where I desperately wanted the hero to be eaten
as soon as
possible so that the film would end. I wonder if the
director’s cut
is an improvement.
Now, the non-genre releases:
- Classic
Musicals 50 Movie Megapack: Digital One Stop
releases another mass
batch. - Queer
As Folk
– Season Four: The HBO series continues. - Sideways:
One of the multiple Oscar nominees that I haven’t yet
seen. - Spanglish:
Adam Sandler and Tea Leoni. - The
West Wing
– Season Four: This series continues to come to
DVD.
Finally, the pick of the week. Once
a
Thief: It’s a three disk set of what seems to be
the Canadian
series starring Sandrine Holt, Nick Lea, and Ivan
Sergei. Highly
amusing kung fu series executive produced by John Woo.
At 281
minutes, there’s not enough time to be the entire
series (of 22
episodes), but it’s too long to just be the pilot
movie. I hadn’t
even heard this was coming, but it’s cheap enough for
me to risk it.
It was a very amusing series.
