Weekly Comics Discussion – October 26, 2011

The complete list of titles is available here.

Dark Horse Comics

  • ABE SAPIEN DEVIL DOES NOT JEST
  • ANGEL & FAITH #3
  • STAR WARS CRIMSON EMPIRE III EMPIRE LOST (OF 6)

DC Comics

  • ALL STAR WESTERN – This highly enjoyable series is not actually a western. Instead, it’s a mystery very much in the line of “Sherlock Holmes hunts Jack the Ripper” that just happens to be set in western era Gotham. I highly recommend it. Definitely one of the most pleasant surprises of the New 52.
  • AQUAMAN – Another pleasant surprise.
  • BATMAN THE DARK KNIGHT
  • BLACKHAWKS
  • FLASH
  • FURY OF FIRESTORM THE NUCLEAR MEN
  • GREEN LANTERN NEW GUARDIANS
  • I VAMPIRE
  • JUSTICE LEAGUE DARK
  • LEGION SECRET ORIGIN (OF 6) – In the new continuity, it doesn’t appear Clark Kent was ever Superboy. Thus, the Legion needs a new origin, according to many.
  • SAVAGE HAWKMAN
  • SUPERGIRL – This is, officially, the first late title of the New 52.
  • SUPERMAN
  • TEEN TITANS
  • VOODOO – Another surprisingly strong title.

Other Companies

  • 2000 AD #1754 – Britain’s sci-fi anthology has been on a weekly schedule for years. And people griped about Action going back to ? Yes, Action was North America’s longest running comic, but that’s like comparing North America’s longest running sci-fi (Stargate SG1, ten seasons) to Doctor Who…
  • CHARMED #15
  • GAME OF THRONES
  • INCORRUPTIBLE #23
  • PLANET OF THE APES #7
