Blaine: From director Andrew Niccol, who wrote The Truman Show, and both wrote and directed Gattaca and S1m0ne, all of which I’ve enjoyed.

Blaine: For years, they said TNG wouldn’t come to Blu-Ray because the effects and film stocks didn’t lend themselves to HD conversion. This appears to be a market sample to gauge reactions, including remastered versions of “Encounter at Farpoint,” “Sins of the Father” and “The Inner Light.”

Finally, the picks of the week. Blaine says, “To Kill a Mockingbird is a great film based on a great book, spreading a message that is, unfortunately, still unheeded by too many people.” Alex says, “I agree with To Kill a Mockingbird. Also, even though it is a re-release, I cannot recommend Das Boot on Blu-Ray enough.
