We normally see more releases in a week like this, typically Warner Bros. films or MGM library titles now owned by Warner Bros. Perhaps Warner Home Video deliberately took the week off hoping people will choose to go see Dark Knight Rises instead of picking something up to watch at home.

Finally, the picks of the week. Blaine says, “while later seasons of Star Trek: TNG will undoubtedly make the pick of the week, this week, I have to go with Sliders instead, especially at those prices. Naturally, the later seasons of that series will not be chosen either…” Alex says, “I, on the other hand, am definitely picking season one of Star Trek: TNG. While the first season was not without its problems (as those who read Wil Wheaton’s “Memories of the Future” will attest), there were some very enjoyable episodes in there.”
I’m curious about ST:TNG on blu-ray. But yeah, season one was fairly terrible.
Now when and if DS9 rolls out on Blu-Ray…I will have a hard time resisting. And we all know what resistance is, ultimately.
Anyone know if the Hi-Def TNG will be coming to streaming services (ie Amazon Prime)? Love being able to watch Firefly in Hi-Def without having to pay for the Blu-Ray discs.
I skipped Season Two the first time around because Season One failed on so many levels. The show did improve, but I wouldn’t buy Season One. I might consider the inevitable Complete Collection they always offer after they figure everyone who is going to buy the original seasons has ’em.
Then they come up with the next big format. HD downloads to your brain, or something.
