Finally, the picks of the week. Blaine says, “the Film Noir, Stanley Kubrick and Sherlock content are all must own titles, but aside from Sherlock, I’m not sure any are worth an upgrade if you already own them.” Alex says, “I’m looking to pick up Sherlock Hound myself, as I’m interested in seeing some of Hayao Miyazaki’s earlier, non-Lupin III work.”
I recently watched An American Werewolf in London for the first time (I know, I know). It’s not terrible but I wouldn’t call it good. The ending, in particular, kind of makes the whole thing not worth watching.
I also watched the 2014 Hercules and since I can’t comment on the original review for some reason I’ll do it here (; I think you were WAY too easy on that movie. It was plain old bad. I completely agree that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is actually a decent actor in it, but when the best things you can say about a movie are “Wow, The Rock is a decent actor!” and “The end-credits were interesting” that does not say much. John Hurt was going “The hell am I doing here?” the entire time.
Newsroom, Season Two? Yes please.
A LOT of good stuff, but as you said, if you already have it, it’s probably not worth buying again.
