I almost cried at the end. The only Trek episode to move me as much as this was the DS9 episode “Assault on Outpost 15” (or whatever it was called).
Similitude represents Trek at its greatest. Many of the human characters in Trek are presented as too cool and superior in all situations – too “perfect” – and it’s a shame considering how amazing the same characters can be when they stop forcing mundane lines and start actually being human.
