Star Trek Prequel in the Works

Rick Berman is confirming that there is another Star Trek film in the works, and that it is a prequel of some kind. Rumors have been flying about regarding a prequel film for some time.

Frankly, I’m all prequelled out. Where are the original ideas?

You are aware that this is Star Trek, right?

If only the problem were isolated to Star Trek. If only…

    Script Idea
I’ve got a good script idea:

Captain Berman, who has been (not so) secretly destroying star fleet from inside is met by a time traveling alien from the year 3200. In 3200, humans are on a quest to rid their past of poor sequels/prequels.

They find Captain Berman and his first officer, Commander Braga, throw them in a radiation chamber, and state, “The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few”

After they fall from radiation poisoning, they put them in a torpedo shell and launch their corposes to the Degeneras planet – an experimental planet for all Degenerates.

The time-traveling aliens then press the reset button and discover that their mission was successful and that the prequel never happened the way history records.

Instead, the prequel was produced by a couple of smart folks who considered continuity and hired real sci-fi writers that actually KNEW how to write a compelling and logical story.

The disaster that befell starfleet in the year 2001 was no more.

So, would you guys watch a movie like that? I sure would.

Look, there is Science fiction, there is fantasy and then there are things that can never happen. Guess which this falls into. Sigh.

Oh please aliens far a far future, save us for we know not what we do!! No more Bad & Badder!!

The only thing that really surprises me
Well, actually there are two things about this that surprise me, but one more than the other. I’d thought they’d said they weren’t making any more movies in the immediate future, so it surprises me somewhat that that is, apparently, false.

But I’m more surprised that it sounds like they’re going to start milking the Enterprise franchise for films so soon. Not that they’ll be getting my money.

    The ultimate B&B Trek …
God forgive me for posting it. Star Trek: Time Police. In the 30th century, the Federation creates the Federation Time Police to maintain temporal integrity. Not only do we freely travel through different timelines, we also get to have various guest stars from all previous Trek shows in most episodes. Milk that franchise. Milk it good.

    :/

Ever since Bakula came on board I’ve seen more time travel plots in this Trek series than I care to. It doesnt take a Quantum Leap to figure this would be a possible new Trek Series! Such is the “imaginitive inspiration” of Universal! LOL

Not that fans hae any say
Well maybe they DO. The problem i see with the current story is the writers and producers aren’t going for a good story, they aren’t pulling the JMS “I know what Im doing, keep quiet until i’m done” which made babylon5 so good. They MUST plan, but the plangets altered because tehyre playing politics and trying to make the show what fans want.
    Thats why enterprise sucked.
If they do a Movie, how about a Deep Space Nine one where we find out whats up with sisko? That jem hadar fleet dissappeared in Sacrafice of Angels, show him going back in time and taching the ancient bajorans to fight them, ok too much B5 similiarity. Or Voayger, what the hell happens to them all after they get home? I ahted the series but i still want closure.
I heard a rumor that they were going to have Data come back and take over the enterprise. Please no, hes done that so many times already, theres plenty of plausible explanations for HOW he would survive (Traveller, Q, Leaving his katra in his little brother who buolds him a new body i dunno) But not taking over the Ship of Death i mean, enterprise…
Definitely not an enterprise because the show isnt doing well enough, theyre not that dumb. Even a Sulu story would be sweet, but im sick of prequels, just go to the future or do an alternate reality so we KNOW everything wont eventually be perfect
