On USA, at 9:00 p.m. Eastern.

I think it looks pretty interesting. Here’s a link to a Zap2it article about it, for those who haven’t read anything about it yet.

  2. hmm
Looks like there will actually be some interesting TV since the cancellation of some of the last great sci-fi series’. However this glorifying and misrepresentation of government agencies is getting out of hand. Is that really what homeland security would do? They would hold them indefinitely without ever releasing the names of the 4400. Then they really had to rub it in with the “Carrie” guy demanding to be let go.

I guess that’s why I’m such a La Femme Nikita fan. They did whatever they wanted to, but they did have the luxury of not representing any known agency. Do TV execs fear the government? ;)

Well, they let them go by court order after the ACLU brought a suit on behalf of the families… until then, they seemed to have no intention of letting them loose. That seems fairly realistic (see also: Guantanamo detainees).

Remember towards the end of TFN when she found that one of the goals of Section One was keeping Saddam in power?

The reason was that, if he was eliminated, the whole region (especialy Iraq) would be come unstable!

      Holy precognition!

Uhm, no. George Bush said that, the father.

You’d also be surprised to learn of what the CIA has been doing with saddam decades ago, but enough of that. Unfortunately geo-politics is a lot more fun when it’s fake and doesn’t involve your future. I really wish LFN was still around :(

  3. I just watched the two hour premiere
It wasn’t bad. It wasn’t compelling, but I think it could develop in interesting ways. The writers laid a lot of interesting cards out on the table.

The only thing that bothers me is the abductee teen soap opera aspect of one of the returnees. Anyone for “The O.C.” meets “Close Encounters”? I guess Maia could be better acted, but the girl playing her is only a little girl, not some anorexic 16 year old ingenue who’s delayed her puberty for four years by starving herself …

All in all this show seems to have a lot of potential. Maybe they can keep it away from Berman and Braga. :)
