Other runners
The article mentioned da Vinci and Space Transport Corp, but I know a few others have said they intend to fly regardless, specifically the Canadian Arrow team, who I figure to be the next most likely after Scaled Composites to be commercially viable.
On the note of money, does anybody know about how much SpaceShipOne costs per flight? I haven’t been able to find that information.

On the /.> thread, It Said That They Cost $35 Mil, Or $25 Mil. Not Sure If That Was ‘Per Flight’ Or Not.
Where’s that 5-days-a-week Rocket Man when you need him?
In a loosely-related story: Let’s hope we get some more ships up there soon. The space-station is experiencing a garbage pick-up problem.

I’m pretty sure that’s their total, overall costs. Though it sounds like they expect to be able to launch it’s successor (the 5 person one Virgin intends to use) at about $700K-$800K US per flight.

So it would cost 200k USD per passenger to cover the cost of the flight?
Pricey…

Exactly. This Is Designed For The Wealthy, Celebraties, And Other Such People To Get To ‘See Space’, But Not It’s Not Really Something Practically Useful, Yet. It Reminds Me Of Russia’s Trips Where They Let Someone Go For However Many Million They Charged. Except They Are Cheaper, And Don’t Require Training. Also, I Like How This Block Quote Started To Look Like a Pyramid.
