Lost 5 minutes
This episode “Lost” refers to the last 5 minutes of the show because the idiots at ABC run the show past the end of the hour. Since I watch Lost on TIVO after the fact, I was treated to the following:
——————————————
Locke: How did you feel when she died?
Boone: (introspective pause)… I felt…
——————————————
Jerks. Why the hell do they do that?
I told Tivo from now on to grab an extra 5 minutes after Lost.

relieved, and that was pretty much the end of the episode.

Truly annoying here as well (using the Charter DVR) – all it’s going to do is get me to start downloading it, rather than watching it on TV. Nice to see the network not “get it”.

Adding insult to injury, NBC started West Wing 5 minutes early so the VCR missed the end of Lost and the beginning of West Wing. Yeah, the “download” option looks better and better every day.

They did this last week too, which is why I check the satellite listing before setting my VCR (I don’t have Tivo yet, but it’s my next big purchase).
Please keep posting these
Had serious withdrawl after no topic was posted last week – was worried that someone listened to the people in the “I never watched it, but why is Lost SF?” school…
Anyway, I thought that this was a very good episode, and explained a lot of the weird tension between Boone and Shannon. Locke does seem to be getting away with an awful lot of stuff in his role of Spirit Guide, but everyone sort of laughs it off at the end. I wonder if that will change soon.
I do still wish that Hurley would get to be something other than comic relief.
BTW, anyone notice the deal with the names: John Locke, Rousseau, Sawyer, Boone… maybe I’m giving the writers too much credit, but I wonder about the literary underpinnings…
