Finally, the picks of the week. Alex: I’ve heard tremendously good things about A Silent Voice, and I’ve missed every opportunity to see it in theaters for a variety of reasons beyond my control. I’m definitely going to pick it up now. Blaine says, “once again, nothing in particular jumps out at me.”

  1. JD DeLuzio says:

So, one month for the new Nancy Drew film to make it from the theatres to home release?

    • I am wondering if that is worth the effort to see. I have a 10 year old and a 6 year old who might care…

      • JD DeLuzio says:

It has about a 70% on Rottentomatoes, and I suspect will be much discussed at the forthcoming Nancy Drew Con in Toronto (No, I am not going, but a friend has a twentysomething daughter who is). The preview did not sell me on the supporting cast, though Sophia Lillis from It plays Nancy, and she’s good.

So, if you’re looking at it for children, it’s probably fine.

  2. I am looking forward to watching Kid Who Would Be King and Glass.
