Comments Alex: Urban fantasy anime series based on a series of novels from the creator of Full Metal Panic, and with character designs by Yoshitoshi ABe. I’d describe it as like Red Heat, except instead of the Russian cop looking like Arnold Schwarcheneggar, they looked like an elven girl.

Comments Alex: Anime series about cute girls doing strength training. Each episode concludes with the main characters demonstrating an exercise that can be done in the home (with particular focus on apartment friendly exercises), complete with a demonstration of one set of reps. If it wasn’t for the degree of fanservice, I’d consider this the perfect shelter-in-place anime.

Finally, the picks of the week. Blaine says, “I enjoy the 1953 The War of the Worlds more than I should, and when you have a Criterion Collection edition of it, it’s hard to say ‘no’.” Alex says, “I agree with everything Blaine has to say here. This is in my top 3 adaptations of the story (alongside the Orson Welles Radio Play and the Musical concept album).”
