Joanna Cameron dies at 70

Oh zephyr winds which blow on high
Lift me now so I can fly

Joanna Cameron, most famous for playing the superhero Isis on 1970s TV, has died at 70 as a result of a stroke.

Cameron continued to act until 1980. She later worked as a homecare nurse and in hotel marketing.

The Isis character, originally created for TV’s Shazam/Isis hour, has since been written into mainstream DC “continuity,” and may be appearing in the forthcoming Black Adam movie.

She was marketed as an action figure by Mego Toys, which became a plot element in the 1998 film Free Enterprise.
