Finally, the picks of the week. Alex says, “I’m going with the Kino-Lorber releases of the Man With No Name trilogy, with the Mummy Trilogy release as my 4K pick for the week.” Blaine says, “of the titles I’ve seen, I’d definitely go with the Indiana Jones movies. As a Kubrick fan, that documentary intrigues me, but I’ve never seen it and can’t attest to its quality.”

  1. I didn’t realize “Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret” came out already. I’ll bet my wife will want to see that one. If I didn’t already own The Mummy Trilogy, I’d pick it up. I’m a sucker for that whole series. The action, the humor, it’s the whole package for me. Universal really dropped the ball with the newer movie and their whole “Dark Universe” idea.

ETA: I’ll pick up The Handmaid’s Tale when it wraps up. I want to see how it ends, but I’m also frustrated by the pacing and the plot armor.

  2. A local kid has a role in Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret (his brother was in Essex County), so I will eventually see it. I have never read the book.

We gave up on Handmaid after a few seasons for all of the reasons you mention. Although it had a strong second season, I wish they had just done the novel and let it go. It worries me that The Peripheral, which we are enjoying right now, has a second season.

Mad Monster Party? is worth seeing once, though best-viewed at Halloween.
