Finally, the picks of the week. Alex says, “This week I’m going with the Shaw Brothers collection – there’s some major titles here (particularly The Flying Guillotine). Babylon 5: The Road Home comes a close second here.” Blaine says, “while I haven’t seen it myself, I’ve heard from enough people who did see Babylon 5: The Road Home at SDCC that I’m confident giving it my recommendation. Jon M. Wilson and I launch our Babylon 5 podcast in January, and would be releasing our coverage of that title on Saturday, December 1, 2029. (Our next recording will cover There All The Honor Lies from season 2.)”

  1. 8-Bit Christmas was a fun bit of nostalgia. I wouldn’t recommend watchung it in August, but if you want a new(ish) Christmas movie for your holiday rotation, check it out.

I’ll be watching Elemental when it hits Disney+. Visually, it looked interesting, but the story seemed pretty cliche.

    • My kid loved 8-bit Christmas, and watched it into the spring. It’s a fine addition to the holiday canon.

Elementals wasn’t bad, but left like it was designed to be a show and instead the cut it up for one overly long movie.
