I like the show, but it seems odd that no one remembers this process in TOS, even when they need to modify Kirk in one episode to look Romulan.
So is the serum some kind of sulfur treatment? ;)
They said they were still pushing the envelope in S3.

Unlike season 2, season 3 remembers that Vulcan emotions are MORE powerful than human emotions. I still don’t see how the serum somehow magically gives them the years of training that allow Vulcans to manage those emotions. It’s not all nature, writers room! A huge chunk of that is nurture…
