I said it elsewhere… I was into He-Man. I liked the Kevin Smith series. This? This doesn’t look like anything I wanted.
… But props for getting Adam into a pink shirt.
I have a bad feeling about this. It feels like they want a GotG knock off, so to speak. Setting it back on Earth tells me the budget was lean (like the 80s live action film) and it’s going to show.
Maybe I’m wrong. I was never that into He-Man (much more into Transformers, Lego, Star Wars, Centurions). Dumb story: The one Masters of the Universe toy I had I got for free by mailing in a specially colored wrapper from Bubblicious or Hubba Bubba. I got Trap Jaw. I think I used him as a henchman for the evil Centurions.
I have high confidence in both production teams for Maul and Invincible. Clone Wars/Bad Batch were both good-to-excellent and I’ve enjoyed Invincible thus far (I really need to grab the comics, just need to figure out where to start).
Yeah, I expect to watch both. I have been enjoying Invincible, so that one was obvious. I haven’t been horribly impressed with Star Wars TV lately (outside of Mando, obviously) but one thing that Star Wars does have on Star Trek is their aliens will actually look alien. I mean, they can go way further, but it’s more than a few facial prosthetics.
Maul is from the same team as Clone Wars/Bad Batch, so I have a decent confidence level.
