This Week’s Releases
- Quinceanera (Limited, Wednesday)
- Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby
- Barnyard
- The Descent
- The Night Listener
- The Amateurs (Limited)
- The Bridesmaid (Limited)
- My Country, My Country (Limited)
Talladega has some early buzz, but I doubt NASCAR fans know when they’re being made fun of. The animation in Barnyard looks terrible and the late-summer release date tells me that even the studio thinks it’s garbage. Reviews of The Descent are promising (it’s already out in the UK), if you like claustrophobic horror films.
All releases are Friday, except where noted. “Limited” releases are usually New York/LA (check your local theaters).
Barnyard & The Descent
Did anyone else notice the Very Obvious anatomy mistake they did in Barnyard?
The Descent is good, really good.

Re: Barnyard & The Descent
Yeah. I almost commented on it, but since I doubt I’ll see it (or anyone else here for that matter) I didn’t. Have these people ever been outside the city?
"To err is human; to moo, bovine"
I find myself in udder confusion about this decision, especially when it comes from Hollywood, a place definitely familiar with bull.
Not to milk this for bad puns, or anything.
Re: Barnyard & The Descent
I am actually telling my kids that I refuse to take them to the movie do to this mistake. If they can’t get bulls right, they obviously didn’t care about anything in this movie at all.
