Some wacky anonymous user sent this in: Twentieth Century Fox Television has remastered the show’s 35mm print to 1080i high definition for a Sept. 24 debut on Universal HD, a network spokesperson confirmed.. If you’re one of the ten or so people who has a hi-def TV, and that channel, go to town.
HDTVs
Actually, quite a few people have HDTVs. I work at Micro Center, and we sell a non-trivial number of them in any given week. But none of them support 1080p, and the ones that support 1080i downgrade the picture to fit on a 768-line display.

Re: HDTVs
Hi-def TVs aren’t a problem. Cable packages that offer that specific channel, that seems to be the problem. My cable company doesn’t offer it anywhere, so far as I can tell, and Charter is the cable company for at least a good chunk of the midwest US.
I’ll just hold out for the HD-DVDs. :)
Re: HDTVs
Thank goodness for DirecTV/HDTivo! They’re running BG, Century City and Hogan’s Heroes in high def (OK, HH isn’t genre, but it’s a great show ;-) ). They’re going to be running Enterprise this fall in HD also…
Re: HDTVs
Chaaad!… Ol’ buddy ol’ pal! Have I told you guys how much I love this guy?
So can you set me up with a discount?…
Time Warner has yet to offer UniversalHD
Except during Wimbledon … I’m one of the 10 that has an HDTV, the Sony KD-34XBR960, the last great CRT TV. With my 1440 x 960 interlaced goodness I smirk at those of you who have to settle for 720p. :P
On the other hand I covet the provider of those of you who can watch things like UniversalHD, and Fox HD, and ABC HD (thanks to the Sinclair Broadcasting Group’s ongoing tussle with TW.) :(
I WANT MY BSG IN HD. I WANT MY FIREFLY IN HD. :(((
Damnit.
