TNG Mini-Marathons in December

TNN is giving Trekkers an early holiday treat, mini-marathons of Star Trek: The Next Generation.

Each one will have a theme, from celebrity guest stars (hosted by Patrick Stewart no less), to "Strange Effects" where bizarre things happen to the crew.

They all seem to be on weekends and should be a lot of fun to watch. I’m setting my VCR!

    i can’t stand most of tnn, but….
…i have been loving the TNG action. between TNG at 8, babylon 5 at 7pm on scifi, and voyager at 10 on UPN, i’ve always got good background noise/distraction whilst on the computer in the evening.

and sooner or later i’m sure they’ll show the one or two TNG eps i haven’t seen (that is, if there are any… i haven’t gone through all 7 seasons of synopses on startrek.com yet).

      Space

Has a four hour block with TOS, TNG, DS9, and then ST:V.

      very addictive

Highlander is on after that as well.

      kills my afternoon

Space is great. For Canadian readers (or others who
want to know what they’re missing) check out the official website
        here
        .

        Re: Space
well i hate you both :P

here in the states, star trek is split up between 3 companies. UPN owns whatever the current series is (enterprise obviously, but it’s been that way since TNG), and it still shows Voyager. i THINK later at night they also do DS9 still. TNN now runs the TNG eps. and finally, scifi channel runs the TOS eps.

now, who do i write to to get all of them to coordinate to fill up my evenings… :)

Voyager is also in syndication. The FOX affiliate out of Lexington, KY, runs episodes at 12:00 AM weekdays.

And yes, I hate you lucky bastards who get the Space Channel. I took a look at their website. Damn! If I had that channel I’d never leave the house!

    Themes & Effects
…to “Strange Effects” where bizarre things happen to the crew.

Umm, wouldn’t that be every episode of Star Trek?? :)

BTW, is anyone else bothered by the ‘squished’ look on TNN lately? At first, I thought they were just cutting off the bottom of the frame (to make way for that crappy logo bar), but now it seems that they are changing the aspect ratio to make it fit. I’m rather sensitive to such things, once I notice them, so I really wish they would quit it. Anyone know who to write to?
