Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles– Discussion “The Demon Hand”

Do we give them a hand over this episode, or do the writers belong on a psychiatric ward?

…And should we start reviewing this show?

Seriously, how many Bureau-crats watch the show? How many read the discussion?

  1. Decent show but
It’s on Fox, so it’s only a matter of time till it’s canceled.

I’ve been catching the shows, but I really don’t want to get too attached to it as it’ll inevitably be canceled soon.

I agree, it will probably go the way of Dark Angel and Futurama. I don’t think it will surpass the original movies like SG1 did. But it’s still entertaining, which means Fox will scrub it soon. The season finally after only 4 shows is a bad sign.

Heh, you’re not the only ones to think this

  2. The 2-Hour Season Finale is next week…
Which feels kind of quick. I wonder if Fox will just forget about it once the stampede of new shows come back.

What I really want to know is why Sarah Connor is so obsessed with pancakes. She’s referred to them in a couple of episodes and, lo and behold, last night’s episode had her cooking pancakes. I think that’s why she was committed in the first place.

  3. I watch it.
The writer’s strike screwed us over a lot this past few months. SCC definitely deserved more episodes than it’s gotten. For now, I like having the discussions open, and if it actually does get renewed, reviews next season would be appreciated.
They’re playing a little loose with the casting. This guy seemed to be the psychiatrist from T2 and T3, but a different actor. Meanwhile, Miles Dyson’s wife was the same from T2 (I think). I understand the reasons, but it throws my suspension of belief off.
The science is bad, still. I’m not complaining about time travel, or even the programmed abilities of future robots. They had some nasty blood science an episode or two back, and now half of the city is out of power from one ruined generator. And how exactly did the generator not rip the skin off Cameron’s hand? What sucks is that it’s laziness from these writers. Using a pipe, or that bar of metal Cameron kept from the bunker would have been sufficient.
That said… I like it. It’s progressing. I’m sick of Cromartie, but I like this Turk chasing plot. Also, making the FBI an ambiguous figure is promising.

I think of the character as "Chrome Marty" myself. And I like the show, though there is NO WAY Chrome Marty’s skull should’ve been carried through the time portal to the present. What about that whole "only organic living matter" can be transported through the portal?? The first movie established this, and the fact that John, Sarah, and Cameron all arrived naked (pant pant) bore this out too.

Ah what the hell. It’s TELEVISION! Check your brain at the door and just enjoy the ride.

It’s been different actors for both roles (Dyson’s wife and Dr. Silberman). And FYI, the phrase is "suspension of disbelief."

I originally started watching the series out of curiosity and, as a big fan of the movies (mostly T1 and T2, the ones that James Cameron did), I was sure that it would suck. It has its problems but overall I’m really enjoying it so far.

I have much the same feelings about this series as you. I also agree with others who predict it’s going to get canned. This is Fox, and they don’t like shows with potential, they only like instant return shows.

As for this week’s episode, John and/or Sarah need to find a way to implement some 3 Laws goodness into Cameron. That moment was very much in-character, but for the sake of humanity she needs some reprogramming.

  4. Is It Just Me…
…or was the music from this week’s ballerina show by Summer the same music coming from the Basement Of Future Horror last week?

    Dum…dum…DDUUUMMMMM….
