“Invincible” Hot Summer Read

rickyjames writes, My lunchtime USA Today has led me to Austin Grossman and his brilliant first novel called Soon I Will Be Invincible. Fly, do not run, to get your hands on this novel. It’s a fun read-it-at-the-beach superhero tale with surprising psychological depth, tailor-made for the Bureau 42 crowd… The paperback hits shelves today.

    Agreed.
Fun. Not mind-shattering, but probably much better than most of the comic-book-to-real-book adaptations. A fun read.

I need to see if he’s written anything else.

Was this originally published as a comic book?

It was my understanding that this was an original book, not a comic-to-book adaptation. Hopefully I can grab this and Yiddish Policeman’s Union in soft cover sometime soon.

No, sorry – just commenting that the writing is better than some of the books I’ve seen that are adaptations of comic books.
