Lost Askewniverse movie comes to DVD

There are a few people out there (such as this one) who
just can’t get enough of Kevin Smith. Well, a
1995 film that touches on the “Askewniverse” laid
out in Clerks, Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Dogma, and
Jay And Silent Bob Strike Back is coming to DVD
Feb. 26. That means this film, The Drawing
Files
will be out on DVD the same day as
Jay And Silent Bob Strike Back.
Details, sketchy as they are, are available here.

    Where can we get it?
I’ve searched at the Borders website, and a few others, but I can’t find it listed. :(

Anybody know where I can buy it?

I haven’t seen it listed anywhere yet,
but I expect the official View Askew
website will probably sell autographed copies as they
do for the other Askewniverse movies.

    Lost KS movie?
So… any details on how this was “lost”, or oh, maybe THE TITLE???? That usually helps when looking for it. Oh, and “Dog Me!” and “Ballrats” don’t count as movies that “touch on” the Askewniverse… Anyone got the inside scoop on this?

The title is The Drawing Files
as it says in my summary and in the article I linked
to. I have no details on how it was lost, although I
do know it stars Jason Lee as a guy who’s trying to
      catch Sasquatch.

Oops. I see that on View Askew. I read the title
on Cinescape, which lists it as “Files” instead of
          “Flies.” Thanks for the correction.

I saw this movie, It was played at Vulgarthon 2000. It’s in black and white, and it pretty entertaining. It takes place in Canada but there isn’t any connection to New Jersey. The closest they come is a scene where Jason Mewes (Playing a fairly normal character, named ‘Jay’, but not nessecarily that ‘Jay’) walks into Kevin Smith in a party. They just look at each other a moment, then walk past each other.

Some rumour had it that this is actually supposed to be *That* Jay, and this movie is what he refrences in the Chasing Amy diner scene, When Bob says he was seeing a girl named Amy, and Jay replies ‘Where was I, in Canada’?

Oh My, Am I THAT Much Of A Fanboy?

…And While I’m On The Subject. They Also Screened A Few Other View Askew Movies You Might Like. One Was ‘A Better Place’, Which Took Place In New Jersey (Red Bank And Ashbury Park), And Had An Ethan Suplee And Jason Lee Cameo (And Stood A Better Chance Of Being Part Of The ‘Askewnivese’ Than Drawing Flies Did). Also ‘Big Helium Dog’, Which As Far As I Know Isn’t Out Anywhere Yet, But It Was A Hilarious Sketch-ish Comedy Movie, Starting Kevin Smith As ‘The Director’ (He Didn’t Direct, However), And Also Had Michael Ian Black (From The State) In It.
