Fringe Discussion: “What Lies Below”

The Fringe Force find themselves dealing with an explosive outbreak. Walter pulls bunnies from hats again; Astrid gets (a little) actual character development.

  1. Love Fringe, Walter Bishop is awesome to watch, even if its ridiculous that he could cure a, previously unknown, super deadly virus with horseradish. I am willing to let that go because the character and the actor are so good.

Now, they REALLY need to start doing much more with Astrid. She is a great character and Jasika Nichole is so… ethereally beautiful. The camera LOVES her. Not to mention she can act.

  2. Well someone had to come up with killing bacteria with mold, didn’t they? :-)

Then again the formulation he gave to the CDC was a bit more complicated than “Horseradish”, and he was under the gun to save Peter, so who knows what his brain could have come up with.

Then again, the way the actor and the role are working so well, he could convince us that unicorns fart rainbows and it would seem to make sense in the Fringe universe.

I keep feeling like the reason we haven’t seen Astrid do much is because she’s hiding something, keeping quiet on her own, and there is a larger story to tell there that they aren’t ready for yet.

Take that, ScFiWire and io9! Bureau42 once again breaks the news first. But maybe put a spoiler warning on that, Fez.
