Novel Review: The Girls

Last year’s pop-thriller was Paula Hawkins’ intriguing mystery, The Girl on the Train; they just released the movie adaptation. This year, the bestseller sort-of-a-thriller presents a fictional version of the Manson killings. Since there’s no mystery about the killers’ identities, Emma Cline’s The Girls examines what might make an upper-middle-class teen join a madman’s cult.

Wonderful Wizard of Oz: Chapter 1: The Cyclone (Bedtime in the Public Domain)

Today sees the launch of our newest podcast: Bedtime in the Public Domain. In this series, I’ll be reading bedtime stories. Each weekday, I release a chapter or short story until the current publication is complete. Then, there will be an audiobook release with all of the chapters in a single file. After a short break, I’ll return with the next book. All books will be accessed via Project Gutenberg to ensure that they are legal to read and share. First up: The Wonderful Wizard of Oz by L.
