This week I’ve got a review of an anime adaptation of a PS2 launch game that turns out better than its source material. Actually, it’s probably one of the best video-game to anime adaptations you’ll ever see. Continue reading →

Movie Review – Flash Gordon (1980)
It came to be a surprise on my part that this film hadn’t been reviewed on the site before now. Well, it’s time to rectify this little error. Continue reading →
Weekend Review – SDF Macross II (OVA)
This week I’m reviewing the second installment (sort-of, it’s been made non-canon) of the Macross series, appropriately titled, Macross II. Is was it worthy of being affiliated with the Macross universe (albeit having been shuffled out of canon to a sort of “elseworlds” status), or was its banishment from canon merited? Continue reading →
Movie Review – Avatar
James Cameron’s latest film since Titanic is now in theaters. The film combines humans with digital environments in a way that no-one has done before, and takes visual effects to places which they’ve never been to before. That’s all well and good, but the movie sucks then you don’t get anywhere. So – with the amount of hype coming out for this movie, at a level on par with Episode I, does it suck as badly as Episode 1 does, or do we get a movie that meets up with the hype? Continue reading →
Weekend Review – Appleseed (2004)
As many other franchises have received in the past, the Halo series is getting an anime compilation DVD – collecting various shorts in the universe – one of these directed by Shinji Aramaki, who directed this movie. So, how good is it (this movie)? Continue reading →
Weekend Review – Tenchi Muyo In Love II: Tenchi Forever
This week we’ve got the last of the Tenchi Muyo movies. Does the series come to an end on a good note, or does it leave us with a bad taste in our mouths? Continue reading →
Weekend Review – Tenchi Muyo: Daughter of Darkness
This weekend we have a review of the second Tenchi Muyo – this one a shorter installment (an hour long film that was released as a double feature with The Slayers: The Movie). This installment also takes the franchise to it’s third continuity. How well does this version of the franchise hold up? Continue reading →
Anime Review – Tenchi Muyo! In Love
This week we’ve got a review of one of the Tenchi Muyo spin-off movies. Can the wacky hyjinks of Ryoko, Ayeka & company translate to the big screen – or will they fall on their face like Mihoshi is wont to do. Continue reading →
Weekend Review – Ghost In The Shell: Stand Alone Complex – Solid State Society
So, after a break for Halloween, we’re going to wrap up our Ghost In The Shell anime reviews with the final installment of the the franchise (until they put out another one) – the movie spin-off of the TV series – Solid State Society. Does the franchise wrap up with a satisfactory conclusion, does it leave us hanging, or worse, does it leave us with a sour taste in our mouths? Continue reading →
Weekend Review – Ghost In The Shell 2: Innocence
This weekend I review Mamoru Oshii’s second outing on Ghost In The Shell. Fizko reviewed the first movie, now it’s my turn with the second. Does this one address some of the problems with the characterization, if not the pacing of the first (though, I liked the pacing of the first, particularly some of the Blade Runner-esque shots of the city, but I digress). On with the review! Continue reading →
