Anonymous Coward writes, It’s already been on slashdot last week, but I
thought I’d mention the new Serenity international
trailer was posted online. Points to ponder, one
of the taglines is “6 rebels on the run”. Six? what
happened to the other 3? and I have yet to see Book in
any of the trailers – anybody hear any news on him? IMDB still
lists Ron Glass as being in the movie… Note
that answering those questions means moving into
spoiler territory. Those of us who wish to remain
unspoiled should choose not to read any comments which
appear in this article.
Without spoiling too much…
I’ve seen the move – Book is in it, but is not really a rebel and is not on the run.
The same goes for Inara. I still can’t figure out where they get six, except
perhaps they aren’t counting River as a Rebel (she isn’t exactly exercising
volition in much of the story, just as in the series).
There are spoilers, and there are spoilers. Be careful, folks.
Re: Without spoiling too much…
River is counted seperately, as the one with a secret, that’s all.

Previous Trailer
Does anyone know where I can find the previous trailer?
Re: Previous Trailer
Apple Trailers has it. If you have iTunes you can even watch it fullscreen.
Re: Previous Trailer
Even better (for those with a fat pipe and Quicktime 7), the hidef h.
264 version. mmmm 1080p
Re: Previous Trailer
Has anyone actually gotten this to play full out? I’ve tried on my mini mac (1.42Ghz), an imac (one of the newer lcd ones, not sure of the speed) and, now that they have qt7 beta for windoze, my 3.2Ghz P4 w/8x AGP nvidia card, and *none* of them will play the hd version without freezing video…
Re: Previous Trailer
Well, I had no problem on my dual 2GH G5 to play the HD version – however the international trailer that was just released seems to crash Quicktime on the same scene (when the words serenity show up torwards the end) everytime, on every machine (windows and mac) that I’ve tried.
very cool
some more parts of the picture… looks excellent
Unrelated question …
Fiziko, y42, someone, what’s up with the Battlestar Galactica reviews? Are you waiting for the UK and Canada to catch up? Any chance we could at least have a discussion story after each week’s episode for those of us who have been able to watch them? There’s a lot of exciting stuff going on, and I for one am dieing to talk about all of it. :)
Please?
-Joe G.
Re: Unrelated question …
I’d love to help you, but I’m just a lowly, if frequent, user : )
I hadn’t realised I was posting so much that I looked like an admin :P
Dunno if I should be flatered or if I should take that as a sign I’ve been overdoing it…
Re: Unrelated question …
Galactica has been reviewed to the end of the first season. Until the second season begins broadcasting in Canada (in the autumn) I cannot review it any further.
Re: Unrelated question …
Could we get a weekly discussion for those of us who can watch the new season?
-Joe
Re: Unrelated question …
Alternatively, someone else can review the current episodes. I will not be watching it online.
Re: Unrelated question …
You can always do what we did down south for the first season… bittorrent!

And, elsewhere we have this from Timeshredder
Earth That Was
They definitely find Earth That Was. That’s definitely the western hemisphere in the shot of the blue/brown planet.

Spoilers
Please don’t.
As for earth, saw it in the original trailer…
Re: Spoilers
Actually, I went to a Big Damn Screening, and the shot in question is actually from a flashbacky kind of thing, basically the “The Setting Thus Far” for those who haven’t necessarily watched the series.
Re: Spoilers
I kinda figured, what with all the arks leaving the place…
And that would be why I’m not watching the new trailer… I can tell too much from the teasers, once I know I wanna see the whole thing, I’b better for me to avoid the later promotional spoilery stuff. Well, for me and for those around me ;-)
Re: Spoilers
And all those Chinese firecrackers goin off in my backyard…
Re: Spoilers
I haven’t seen the movie, only saw the higher resolution version of the trailer. Looks FANTASTIC though, I can’t wait. :)

Brace Yourselves For A Hell Of A Ride
I saw Serenity last month and I’m still trying to decide if Joss Whedon is a a brilliant genius or an insane madman. You give the guy a one-in-a-million shot at reviving his series and he does THAT…
PS
The whole gang is in there, but everybody and everything takes a back seat to Mal and River. How this thing avoided an R rating is beyond me, it’s practically a Halloween horror flick. If by some miracle you can get to the theatre on Sept 30 in an unspoiled mode, trust me, do that. Terminate with extreme prejudice before he gets to his punchline the guy in front of you whispering about what he saw in the preview showing. You do not get chances to see movies like this very often and you want to watch it as Joss intended.
Re: Brace Yourselves For A Hell Of A Ride
He doesn’t WANT to revive the series.
Re: Brace Yourselves For A Hell Of A Ride
He IS reviving his series, currently as a movie series with a hoped-for sequel. I agree Joss doesn’t want to revive the TV series – but I sure do.
