Movie Discussion: “The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe”
The general consensus seems to be the movie’s great to watch. What did you think?
Movie Review: King Kong versus Godzilla
(Kingu Kongu tai Gojira)
Urban legend declares that Kong wins in the American version and Gojira in Japan’s. This is false, but different versions did play the west and east sides. We hear Kong’s, but not Godzilla’s, triumphant cry as the pair topples off the cliff and into their next movies (Godzilla vs Mothra aka Godzilla vs the Thing and King Kong Escapes) in the American release. The western version also features some re-editing and new sequences. It emphasizes the conflict between Kong’s sophisticated mammal brain and Godzilla’s primal reptilian one: a characterization true of the original Godzilla, but not the later lizard superhero.
This review (Bureau article #3000!) ends our Kong Kountdown. The much-anticipated remake opens tomorrow.
Movie Review: King Kong (1976)
We’re counting down to the big budget remake of and homage to 1933’s King Kong. Peter Jackson, of course, isn’t the first to remake the classic adventure film. In addition to numerous knock-offs, Dino De Laurentiis produced this notorious remake, released during America’s bicentennial year.

of the year; do you want them posted early, to plan
your own Christmas shopping, or would you prefer I
stick to the “one a week” schedule?

Guillermo del Toro talks “Hellboy 2” and “Halo”
Peter Jackson has approached the “Hellboy” director to helm “Halo.” I don’t really care, as long as they keep Uwe Boll away from another video game movie. Or any movie for that matter.
Movie Review: King of Kong Island
Originally titled Eva, la Venere selvaggia, and also released in English as Eve the Wild Woman and Kong Island, this disastrous 1968 jungle pic will receive a new DVD rerelease later this month, to cash in on the hype surrounding Jackson’s remake of King Kong.
Smallville Review – “Lexmas”
