The score
Just went and have a look at the score…
Why did it get 3/6 for originality when, as stated there, there was a nearly identical episode in a previous star trek series? Hell, there was even a similarly themed episode in TOS, the “ganster planet” episode, where they had already contaminated the planet with a history book (and a botched attempt at civilising the locals), wich was itself similar to the “nazi planet” episode.
Are you taking off a point for everytime its been done before in the same franchise?

Ah, you are talking about
A piece of the action and Patterns of Force.

Back aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise, Kirk notices McCoy unusually drawn and worried. When questioned, McCoy is forced to admit that he thinks he left his communicator on Sigma Iotia II, leaving him to wonder what type of planetary society the next Federation visit will find …
So Reed and Archer almost forget it, and finally McCoy ends up finishing their job (if one can call it like that of course).
