Star Trek Into Darkness – Trailer (With some actual plot)

We’ve seen a bunch of teasers for the movie, but this would be, what I would call, the first real trailer.

Of everything in there, I hung onto the phrase “agent.” Section 31 anyone?

Meanwhile, the 12-year-old Star Trek fan in me just has the following to say “eep.”

Over on Facebook George Takei has had his attention drawn to the name of a shuttle in one of the trailers…

  2. Apparently, there are Easter Eggs hidden throughout this trailer.

  3. For more on the “Agent” bit, see IDW’s ongoing “Star Trek” series, which reimagines original series episodes with the J.J. Abrams crew.

I gotta say that the new Star Trek films are a little too SciFi action flick for me. I appreciate the need for some fights and explosions but if that’s all there is there just doesn’t seem to be a lot of point.

I agree with the guy from Red Letter Media. The new Trek films are good, but they’re not Trek. They’re (cue echo effect) “Generic! Space! Adventure! Movie!”

Yeah, I wonder if that’s a side-effect of being too far removed from a TV series, they’re scared to do real Trek since the actors don’t have an established chemistry or relationship of their own.

Or maybe someone just needs to take JJ Abrams FX budget away.
