Comments | Blaine: I was really tempted to leave this off the list, but ultimately left it because that would be imposing my views and attitudes on others. If you are the kind of person who will allow a performer’s personal life impact whether or not you consume their output and don’t know what I’m talking about, it won’t be hard for you to find out.

The RSC Presents Love’s Labours Won (or Much Ado About Nothing)
Amazon | |||||||||
Comments | Alex: Apparently the latest staging of Much Ado About Nothing by the Royal Shakespeare Company is getting billed (for its DVD release) as a staging of the lost Shakespeare play “Love’s Labours Won”, which feels like False Advertising, but according to the RSC, isn’t.

Finally, the picks of the week. Blaine says, “I’m tempted to go with Doctor Who, even though I don’t personally plan to pick up a 3D post-conversion of I title I own not originally intended for 3D.” Alex says, “If you haven’t seen Rocky Horror Picture Show, or if you’ve seen it, like it, but don’t own a copy yet, now is as good a time as any.”
The Much Ado,,, retitling can be read as a kind of joke, since many scholars believe that the lost Love’s Labours Won is actually just an alternate title for Much Ado About Nothing.
The complete Partridge Family. Hmm…
I may have to check it out. Much Ado is by far my favorite Shakespeare play and I highly recommend either the Brannagh version from the 90’s or the more recent film from Joss Whedon and company. I really wish schools would teach this play instead of Romeo and Juliet as kids’ first impression of The Bard.
