  1. Damned studios
I would go and see it in April! I would! Surely I’m the only viewer who matters?

Still, it’s nice to hear that the studio have seen the pre-effects cut and like it. At least we can be confident that what we will see (eventually) is pure Firefly as intended.

  2. Septembre?
Didn’t they try that LAST time?

Friday, sept 20th, to be precise… dammit, they’re repeating their mistakes! Somebody do something!

    Panic!

Nah last time they tried to go on a network know for ‘celebrity boxing’ and other pieces of trash.

Should have gone to Sci-Fi first. We’d still be enojoying that show on TV, maybe.

I think the budget was too big for Sci-Fi, they are cheap.

I agree. Every “Sci-Fi Original” barely escapes B-movie rank. They are all just so-so… something to pass the time between rarities like Firefly.

  3. This is bad. Real bad.
Long story short – September and February are “dead months”. Months in which movies tank. Sometimes because they suck, sometimes because they’re put there to “avoid the competition”.

Box Office Mojo said it best: if Sky Captain had been released in July, it would’ve made approximately twice the money (as being released in September). Statistically, this is the case. And it sucks.

The first three weeks of September are dead because people are paying for school supplies. This is coming out on September 30, making it a fifth week release, so that won’t be the issue it normally is. Also, April currently has scheduled releases for Amityville Horror, XXX: State of the Union, Sin City, and House of Wax, all of which are genre releases. It could be very competitive, so it may stand to make more in September than it would in April (which, by the way, wouldn’t have made nearly as much as a July release, either.)
