Harry Potter and The Awards of Tony

Not an award we usually get to cover here at the Bureau, but it proved to be a good year for genre plays. Well, one in particular, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.

The play, a sequel to the original seven books that follows young Albus Potter’s adventures at Hogwarts, won six Tony Awards including Best Play and Best Direction of a Play.

You can see the full results of the award ceremony here.

  1. I read the script version, and…

Well, I suspect seeing it performed would be significantly better.

As a theater geek, I can attest that reading a script versus seeing it on stage can be a night and day difference. Scripts are pretty dry and don’t suck you in like a live performance can.

That being said, I have only read the script and haven’t seen the show (yet).
