Superman is a dick!

The recent widespread discovery of Supermanisadick resulted in the site being shut down due to data transfer issues, so I didn’t bother posting this last week. The site now redirects to temporary hosting at National Lampoon— but return again soon. NatLamp’s version doesn’t include some of secondary pages which I found even funnier than the main show.

So, is Superman a dick? Examine the evidence….

Obviously the dialogue has changed, but is the cover art real?

What do you mean, the dialogue is changed?

Didn’t follow the link, am familiar with the site discussed, it had real golden/silver age whacky covers.

And pre-crisis superman was apparently a dick, yes. Hell, ever read golden age supes stories? He was a brute, simply clobering his way around.

I just started reading “The Superman Archives Vol. 1” last
night. It’s golden age. I’m twenty pages in, and
Superman has already used the “if you think this is pain,
wait and see what happens if you don’t sign this
        confession” type of heroism twice.

Embarrassing though they are, that’s real Silver and Golden Age art and dialogue at its worst and funniest.

Well, there’s a reason why comics got their reputation.

              Those…are…real…comic book…covers? *Stares in disbelief*.

Well keep in mind that on a lot of those Jimmy Olsen and Lois Lane ones, it would usually turn out to be something lame, like a dream sequence, or another dimension, or something like that. The cover art was just shock value meant to get you to buy the comic.

It reminds me of the Dysfunctional Family Circus website that was around a few years ago. They would put up a real FC comic, and ask people to supply the captions.

Bil Keane, the creator of FC, actually contacted the site owner, and they had a great chat, but in the end, the owner took down the site.
