New Doctor Who Pictures

GrimSean writes, Apparently the BBC is starting to release more information about the new Doctor, putting up a number of pictures on the Doctor Who homepage. It appears that they\’re going for a more “classic” costume this time around.
They didn’t give him a scarf, though.

This Looks Interesting. I Can’t Wait To See What The Character Turns Out Acting Like, Just So Long As He Doesn’t Come Off Too Straight.

      Or too “Captain Jack” ;-)

Since I only ever got to see reruns of the old shows, I’m pretty psyched about seeing the results of a regeneration first hand: How he’s changed, how he stayed the same. This ought to be good!

  2. Guest Stars
Also note that Anthony Head (Giles on Buffy) will be showing up this season, as will Elisabeth Sladen as Sarah Jane Smith! Wow!

Yes… bringing back Sarah Jane is either a stroke of genius or a complete screwup and shameful pandering to the fans of the original series which will backfire and make everyone hate them.

I’m hoping on the former, I think it’s going to be good if it’s done right. A bit of back-referencing continuity, some sense that companions continue outside their interaction with the Doctor… these are things we’ve had bits of (mostly with Rose’s family), but which I’d like to see more of.

I also realised what was so different about the new series. Whereas Doctor Who used to be pretty much isolated stories over several episodes each, now it’s episodes with an overall arc, as you see in something like Stargate SG-1. Only with less filler. Quite a different approach, but worked.

I suspect you all knew that, and I’m just late realising it properly!

Wow, no kidding. Remember that Sarah has her own K-9 unit. John Leeson
(the voice of K-9) is still available…

I Remember Reading, And I Have No Idea Where, But They’ve Said That K-9 Was Going To Make An Appearance.
